Print-and-play game
Color & Shape Hunt Cards
This is my go-to game when kids need to move, but I don't want to set up a big activity. Print the cards, draw one, and race to find something that matches. It works inside, outside, and even in a waiting room.
Ages 3-85-15 minutesLow prep
Tip: let kids color the shapes first.
Setup
- Print the cards and cut along the dashed lines.
- Optional: have kids color the shapes to match the color words.
- Shuffle the cards and place them face down.
How to play
- Flip a card and read the color + shape out loud.
- Kids race to find an object that matches.
- First one back keeps the card. Most cards wins.
Quick variations
- Easy: Ignore colors and match only the shape.
- Harder: Draw two cards and find both items before the timer ends.
- Co-op: Everyone hunts together and sorts items into a basket.
